If the only decision you make when you get to work is where you’re going to park your vehicle, then perhaps it’s time for you to get your own business. If you’re tired of answering to a boss versus being the boss, then it’s probably time to get your own business. Notice I did not say it’s time to start your own business! For some ungodly reason too many black folk thinks that starting a business from scratch is the path to financial freedom. I’m going to type this in caps…WRONG! Before I get ahead of myself, first let’s talk about what it takes to own, operate, or control a business. What it takes is the proper mind set. For some of us, we have been employees all our working lives and so has everyone around us so that’s all
we know. Go get a job. While you out there looking, find a good job. Here are three most common ways to get a business of your own; buy an existing business, buy an existing franchise or buy a new franchise. While all methods have their respective levels of risks, it beats trying to figure things out along the way when you attempt to start a business from scratch. Investing time, money and energy trying to build market share, trying to get more customers, trying to make payroll and so on, can be overwhelming.
